La exposición que tenemos a nuestro alcance es una muestra muy significativa en la trayectoria tanto personal como profesional de la artista Celia Kettle.
- COPAS Y MANOS. Tras pasar por un periodo de ausencia personal y creativa, la pintora se levantó de nuevo. Su trabajo surge de un gesto tan sencillo como cotidiano: con una copa llena en la mano nos ofrece una mirada, invitándonos a mantener una conversación. Es el inicio de una historia que está dispuesta a contarnos. De este modo nos abre un camino a la comunicación y las huellas que las relaciones personales dejan en nuestras vidas en un mundo donde las relaciones humanas tienden a la ausencia.
- DE LOS OCÉANOS. Con esta serie, CeliaK empieza a ampliar las perspectivas de su trabajo, mostrándonos su mundo interior, rico en sentimientos que ya eran esenciales en algunas de sus pinturas. La intensidad emocional es como el agua que se expande generosamente como una eclosión de océanos. La línea que dibuja el borde define sus límites y la relación con el espacio circundante, donde habitan las sombras de la incertidumbre y las fluctuaciones de los estados de ánimo.
- MUNDOS CAMBIANTES. En sus cuadros, utiliza el círculo de una copa, que hasta entonces hacía referencia al individuo social, para representar ahora la imagen del planeta. Celia Kettle expresa su preocupación por el impacto ambiental producido por el ser humano a partir de las políticas de los EE.UU. En el año 2018, en París, se pone fin al acuerdo climático que se había logrado con mucho esfuerzo. Con su obra la pintora se sumerge en el compromiso de expresar la desintegración. Como el agua, que es parte fundamental de los seres vivos y de su obra, en sus pinturas puede fluir desde la vida de los ríos hasta la peligrosa transformación de la putrefacción o destrucción.
- DEAR MARJORIE. Celia Kettle nos cuenta una historia romántica familiar que descubrió un día, en el tiempo de confinamiento. Por azar se encontró por casa una carta que hablaba de emigración hacia la otra parte del océano en los tiempos difíciles que vivía su país. Todo un mundo de deseos comprometidos y de relaciones que parecen imposibles. Pero afortunadamente los años volverán a ofrecernos el regalo del reencuentro. Las pinturas nos muestran una narración elaborada con un lenguaje pictórico diferente al de las otras series. Celia Kettle nos muestra la sensibilidad dulce del dibujo y de los tonos de colores que recuerdan a su niñez.
The exposition we have at our grasp is a very significant sample of Celia Kettle’s career, both personal and professional wise.
- COPAS Y MANOS. After going through a period of a personal and creative absence, the painter rose again. Her work comes from a gesture so everyday and simple: with a full cup in her hand she offers us a look, inviting us to keep a conversation going. It’s the start of a story she’s willing to tell us. This way she opens us a way to the communication and the marks that personal relationships leave in our lives in a world where human relationships tend to disappear.
- DE LOS OCÉANOS. With this series, CeliaK starts to broaden the perspectives of her work, showing us her inner world, rich in feelings that were already essential in some of her paintings. The emotional intensity is like the water that generously expands like a bloom of oceans. The line that draws the border defines her limits and the relationship with the surrounding space, where the shadows of uncertainty and the fluctuation of moods dwell.
- MUNDOS CAMBIANTES. In her works, she uses the circle of a cup, which until now had referenced the social individual, in order to now represent the image of the planet. Celia Kettle expresses her worries about the environmental impact made by mankind due to USA’s policies. In 2018, in Paris, the climate agreement that had gotten done with so much effort was put to an end. With her work the painter dives into the compromise of expressing the environmental disintegration, Like water, which is a fundamental part of living beings and her work, from the life of rivers to the dangerous transformation of putrefaction or destruction can flow in her paintings.
- DEAR MARJORIE. Celia Kettle tells us a familiar romantic story she discovered one day in confinement times. By chance she found in her house a letter that spoke about emigration to the other part of the sea in the hard times her country was living in. A full world of compromised wishes and relationships that seem impossible. But, fortunately, years will offer us the gift of reunion again. The paintings show us a narration made with a different pictorial language from the other series. Celia Kettle shows us the sweet sensitiveness of the drawings and the color tones that reminds of her childhood.
